Attendees: Father Francis, Patricia Deleu, Dr. Jeanne Gradone, Michael St. Pierre, Carol Budisak, Michael Holland, Camille Leggett, Tan Miller, Jen Qvotrup, John Walsh, and Robert Zebick
Father Francis opened the meeting with a prayer.
Items Discussed:
- Home and School Association (HSA)
- Carol presented a proposal on the structure of the HSA that will streamline communication between the Morris Catholic Junior School and the St. Virgil Academy while providing proper representation of schools, faculty and parents.
Agreements/Next Steps
- 1 H S A for both schools to start. Representation from both schools accomplished via VP roles for each school
- Scope and mission of H S A to remain the same
- Advancement Team replaces Marketing Committee
- Expanded role of Class Parents
- Obligation to be determined by Michael St. Pierre and Father Francis
- Fundraising details are in development
Facilities Review
An in depth review of the building and grounds maintenance was completed and presented to the tea. This information will be used as a baseline assessment for joint school leadership.
Agreements/Next Steps
- Maintenance needs to be evaluated by SVS maintenance for appropriate action; a concern was raised about improving the overall maintenance of the building
Handbook
Jen presented an analysis of the parent/student handbook for overlap and content. It was determined that the Handbook is a contract between family and school therefore there is a need for each school to have a separate Handbook. Jen volunteered to facilitate the development of the MCJS and SVA handbooks with both schools leadership and faculty.

- Calendar to be online with monthly updates ( hard copy and online)
Junior School Curriculum Sub-Committee
Dr. Gradone has been meeting with Faculty and parents to generate input and feedback. She noted the importance of the following:
- Technology
- Articulation of curriculum
- Student activities
- Facilities and equipment for science lab work
A sub-committee meeting is planned for March 19. (update: as several parents could not make this meeting date, Dr. Gradone has rescheduled to March 23rd; she has been in contact with those parents whose names were given to her)
Registration Update
- MCJS Registration
- MCJS Team will be onsite at SVS on March 23 to register students. Packets were sent home to parents last week.
- SVA
- Registration forms have been sent home to families.
Faculty Communication
Technology Survey for SVS Faculty
A survey was fielded to the SVS Faculty to gain input and feedback on technology needs and opinions. The responses to the technology survey have been tabulated and will be made available to the team on March 19.
Communication to SVS Parents
Agreements/Next Steps
In addition to posting minutes on the web, the team agreed to issue an update to SVS families in the weekly white envelope. This will be provided within the next two weeks.
